Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist at Casa of Hobart is responsible for evaluating and treating patients with special equipment and daily activities to improve their functional abilities.
Essential Duties
- Evaluate and treat residents with disabilities, illnesses, or injuries using special equipment and therapeutic activities.
- Attend all required facility meetings and in-services, including Medicare meetings, patient staffing, family meetings, and care plans.
- In cooperation with the Program Manager and Regional Manager, develop programs to assist residents in achieving their highest feasible level of functioning.
- Aid the facility in meeting necessary certifications from state, federal, and other appropriate sources.
- Follow facility infection control policies and OBRA Resident’s Rights Guidelines.
- Schedule residents on caseloads and participate in all required in-services and meetings.
- Present professionally, including maintaining professional conduct, communication, and appropriate dress.
- Report directly to the Program Manager for oversight of clinical, documentation, and compliance skills.

Qualifications
- Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Indiana.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, illnesses, or injuries.
- Knowledge of therapeutic use of daily activities and special equipment.
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in following facility infection control policies and OBRA guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
