Occupational Therapist

Location: Newcastle, ME
Position Type: School Year
Hours: Full-Time
Pay: $38–$50 per hour (based on experience)
Setting: School-based / Public school (K–12)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide school-based occupational therapy services to students
• Conduct OT evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
• Deliver direct therapy (individual and small group sessions)
• Support students with: Fine motor skills and handwriting, Sensory processing and sensory integration, Executive functioning and organization, Activities of daily living (ADLs), Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, PTs, and SLPs
• Recommend accommodations, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology
• Participate in IEP meetings and team discussions
• Maintain documentation, progress notes, and compliance records

Qualifications

• Active Maine Occupational Therapist license (required)
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or OTD)
• Experience or interest in pediatrics, school-based therapy, or special education
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
