Occupational Therapist

Responsibilities

• Plans rehabilitation programs involving manual arts, practice in prevocation, vocation, homemaking skills, daily living, sensorimotor, educational and recreational activities.
• Assists patients in functioning or adjusting to their handicaps through various therapeutic activities.
• Selects and coordinates activity programs tailored to each patient’s needs and capabilities.
• Teaches patients necessary skills and techniques for participating in activities and evaluates their progress.
• Suggests special equipment for patients to use in adapting to their work and living environments.
• Lays out materials for patients and cleans and repairs tools at the end of each session.
• Conducts and participates in training programs.
• Makes and fits adaptive devices like splints and braces as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited college and licensed as an Occupational Therapist.
