Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and independence with daily living activities.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes to the Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and home programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Ensure a safe treatment environment and comply with infection prevention and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Assist with equipment management and treatment area preparation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
- Recent experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient, skilled nursing (SNF), long-term care (LTC), home health, or pediatric settings preferred.
