Occupational Therapist Assistant - Part-Time (Adjunct) Faculty

Part-time (Adjunct) Faculty position in the Occupational Therapy Assistant department.

About the role

The Sinclair Occupational Therapist Assistant Program is seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face morning, afternoon, and evening courses at the downtown Dayton campus. Students combine biological and behavioral sciences with technical occupational therapy assistant courses and participate in extensive clinical training, gaining experience working with people of all ages and abilities.

Starting pay: $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach.

Responsibilities

• Teach curriculum developed by the department.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies.
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies; use instructional technology when appropriate.
• Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student needs.
• Support classroom efforts to promote student success.
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress.
• Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Adjunct faculty cannot teach more than 12 credit hours per semester.

Requirements

• Minimum of an associate’s degree in the content area or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must be a licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environment.
• Demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.
• Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees and successful completion of a background check required prior to hire.
