Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) — Outpatient Clinic

About the role

Therapists at TheraDynamics work in skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), supporting patients recovering from various health conditions such as strokes, hip fractures, cardiac events, and progressive neurological conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure safe and effective patient evaluations and treatments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focusing on functional independence.
• Collaborate with nursing, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, and social work teams to coordinate patient care.
• Address self-care skills, cognitive and perceptual deficits, home safety, adaptive equipment needs, and caregiver training.
• Evaluate and implement interventions that promote safe discharge planning.

Requirements

• Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current or eligible for New York State Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license.
• NBCOT certification (or eligible).
