Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)- Palm Beach County-

About the role

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist. Assist patients in performing daily activities and exercises to improve their functional independence.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
• Teach patients exercises to improve strength and coordination
• Document patient progress and report to supervising therapist
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
• Passing score on the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam
• Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and principles

Skills

• Strong manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in using medical terminology and documentation software

Pay

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Variable schedule to accommodate patient needs, typically Monday through Friday, with some weekend availability.
