Occupational Therapist Assistant

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy rehabilitation care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). They collaborate with patients, families, and support teams to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and facility standards. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions when necessary. Qualifications include NBCOT certification (renewal optional), graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program, and a valid state license. While one year of experience is preferred, new graduates are encouraged to apply. CPR certification is required upon hire or during orientation, with ongoing certification maintenance. Key responsibilities include documenting patient progress, utilizing therapy software accurately, demonstrating professionalism, maintaining confidentiality, and fostering positive patient interactions.
