About the Role
The Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive occupational therapy services, including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program planning, protocol development, and team efforts to meet healthcare goals.
Responsibilities
- Conducts evaluations, reviews history, performs assessments, and documents findings; explains results to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
- Implements treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, collaborates with healthcare professionals, and adjusts care plans as needed.
- Completes discharge planning, follow-up care, and maintains accurate, timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Manages time effectively, demonstrates professionalism, and ensures patient access to care through flexibility and empathy.
- Works across various settings, participates in quality improvement, community outreach, and departmental activities.
- Supports departmental goals, adheres to regulations, pursues ongoing education, and mentors staff and students.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in relevant locations.
- CPR certification from AHA or Red Cross.
- Strong clinical competency, teamwork, organization, communication, and customer service skills.
