This role is a hybrid position, working part-time from our Escondido, CA office and part-time from the road with clients or at a home office when necessary. Applicants must be able to commute to the office in 92025 at least four days per month. Ideal candidates are located in Riverside, Inland Empire, San Diego, Los Angeles, or similar areas, as commuting to San Diego several times a month is required. Clients are primarily located in these regions, and the role includes travel throughout the West Coast for on-site client visits.

About the Role

The Risk and Safety Consultant will lead client relations, servicing our growing client base while expanding it. This full-time position provides occupational safety and risk control services and guidance to reduce workplace injury risk and client risk profiles, ensuring customer satisfaction. Our diverse clients include contractors, industrial facilities, large and small manufacturing, and office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational safety and risk assessments and physical surveys at client locations.
  • Assist clients in developing employee and supervisory safety training.
  • Develop technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work independently to provide on-site safety and risk management support.
  • Communicate with clients and individuals of varying professional and educational backgrounds.
  • Understand clients' safety needs, exposures, and build relationships.
  • Help develop and implement health and safety programs.
  • Analyze injury data and produce meaningful reports and recommendations.
  • Plan and organize service requests to meet target dates and production goals.
  • Travel throughout the West Coast to service clients as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field (strongly preferred).
  • Safety-related designation (e.g., CSP, ASP, ARM, CIH, CHST) preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience in Safety and Loss Control preferred.
  • Competency and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • In-depth safety and risk management knowledge and skills.
  • Commitment to staying current with Federal OSHA and State Plan regulations and standards.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation insurance and claims.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to anticipate and resolve practical issues.
  • Proficiency in business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, initiative, and stress tolerance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse individuals and co-workers at all levels.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong judgment, moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, and desire to assist others.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

Pay

$75,000 - $95,000 annually.
