Position Summary

The plant nurse practitioner is the manager of the Medical Department with administrative duties and responsibilities in the direction of assigned staff and in support of plant goals and objectives. He or she must be qualified to provide advice and counsel to plant management on matters of occupational health as described in the Health Services Manual.

This position is Monday–Friday, 7:00am–3:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the leader of the medical department with administrative duties and responsibilities in directing assigned staff.
• Provide advice and counsel to plant management on occupational health matters as outlined in the Stellantis Health Services Manual.
• Collaborate with RNs managed by Corporate Medical.
• Support the Scope of Services referenced for the role.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA record keeping and compliance.
• Manage disability and workers’ compensation cases.
• Respond to emergencies anywhere on the plant premises and participate in emergency drills.
• Provide advisory and consulting services to Plant Management, Chief Physician, and Corporate Medical Operations in a timely manner.
• Assist Stellantis in Occupational Medicine Services.
• Conduct clinical responsibilities for employee health, including periodic physical exams to determine work capacity and monitor worker health.
• Assist in implementing medical programs and procedures compliant with federal and state regulatory standards.
• Adhere to high professional ethics and all pertinent state and federal laws governing medical or nursing practice.
• Monitor preventive maintenance on medical equipment and direct staff to implement corrective action or repairs as needed.
• Conduct regular audits of supplies, equipment, and medical charts.
• Provide coverage at other local plants as needed to meet business requirements.
• Support or conduct telemedicine visits for other plants as required.
• Attend an annual health and safety conference.
• Train in the use of Cority, the electronic medical record system, if not already proficient.

Requirements

• Unrestricted Michigan state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Three years of Occupational Medicine experience as an NP, preferably in an industrial setting. Emergency Room or Urgent Care experience within the last year may be considered.
• Knowledge of and experience working with OSHA and workers’ compensation.
