Occupational Health Nursing Supervisor

Responsibilities
- Treats minor illnesses or injuries and provides immediate emergency care as necessary.
- Coordinates Supervisors and/or consulting physician in arranging referral and transportation for additional medical care when necessary.
- Executes emergency medical response when needed.
- Participates in early intervention for strains and sprain injuries with a third-party intervention team.
- Co-administers worker’s compensation program with the Safety Manager.
- Prepares and maintains clinical or case histories, treatment records, and other confidential patient data.
- Conducts health evaluations of applicants and employees, including pulmonary function testing, audiometric testing, and substance abuse screening.
- Collaborates with the Human Resources Department on issues of employee health, safety, disability/fit-for-duty, and other pertinent personnel matters.
- Maintains drug and medical supplies, issues protective equipment, and maintains related medical records.
- Administers health and wellness programs as needed and provides counsel to employees.
- Assists in administering the plant’s safety goals by analyzing work-related injury/illness trends and working closely with physicians regarding work restriction forms.
- Supports overall department objectives, duties, events, and other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse or LPN and/or equivalent certificate with emergency room or occupational health experience required.
- 5 years of related experience required.
- Supervisor experience preferred.
- Certified in pulmonary function and audiometric testing desired; ability to obtain these certifications after hire is required if not already held.
- Certified in administering Kinesio Tape technologies or the ability to become certified.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within all levels of a diverse workforce.
- Experience in disability and/or worker’s compensation strongly desired.
- General understanding of FMLA and other leave components strongly desired.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite required.
- Ability to type 40+ wpm required.
Schedule
Must be able to work first shift hours of 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Occasional weekend, evening, or early morning overtime may be required with sufficient notice.
Pay
The salary range for the Occupational Health Nursing Supervisor is $90,400 – $129,100 annually.
