Occupational Health Nurse (Plainfield, IN)

About the role

Provides Occupational Health and First Aid Case Management services at assigned Duke Energy locations. Services include assessing, planning, and delivering first aid care to all employees in a timely fashion, with a focus on the prevention of escalation to OSHA recordable events.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and delivers first aid care to all employees in a timely fashion, with a focus on the prevention of escalation to OSHA recordable events.
• Completes physical exams for regulatory compliance (Nuclear specific).
• Completes required recordkeeping and consults with local management to ensure the case management process is followed.
• Communicates effectively with employees, presents at required safety meetings, and writes health related articles for the company.
• Serves as a resource to employees for personal health issues and concerns, referring them to external health and medical agencies as needed.
• Performs hands-on ergonomic evaluations for employees and supports corporate Quick Fit stretching program.
• Documents all medical examinations, tests, consultations, and evaluations in a timely manner.
• Assesses, plans, and delivers first aid care for all employees in a timely fashion, focusing on preventing OSHA recordable incidents.
• Alerts Duke Energy WC Coordinator of employee injuries referred off-site, notifies vendor’s management of vendor visits for injuries or illnesses, and alerts off-site medical facilities of injuries coming to them for evaluation/treatment.
• Schedules appropriate physical exams and medical tests to meet business needs and regulatory due dates.
• Works independently and provides medical direction within the scope of the OHN position.
