Responsibilities

  • Administers and evaluates the Occupational Health Program, ensuring compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and professional requirements/policies pertaining to Occupational Health and Worker’s Compensation.
  • Provides reports to appropriate hospital entities (e.g., Leadership Council, Infection Control Committee) as required.
  • Performs health care screening, evaluation, and counseling, as well as the educational and training components of the Occupational Health Program.
  • Obtains health histories, performs basic physical examinations (e.g., height, weight, vision, hearing, pulse, blood pressure) and obtains and labels specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Contributes to a healthier working environment and a more effective workforce through counseling and training employees in health and well-being practices.
  • Performs pre-employment health screening for new employees to ensure immunization and TB screening requirements are met.
  • Tracks and provides follow-up to ensure all permanent, contracted, and Commissioned Corps staff comply with ongoing immunization requirements.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to identify and monitor employees with work-related injuries or illnesses; assists with return-to-work and/or fitness-for-duty assessments when appropriate.
  • Collaborates with the Infection Preventionist, Director of Risk Management, Hospital Administration, Department Supervisors, and Human Resources; initiates referrals for general and specialized medical care and rehabilitative services.
  • Maintains employee medical files (EMF), including immunization status, PPD/TB status, work-related exposures and injuries, and other relevant health-related information in a secure, confidential manner.
  • Administers the Facilities Respiratory Protection Program, including respirator mask fitting, training employees on Positive Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs), and conducting fit-testing for hospital-approved N-95 respirators as needed.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
  • Valid and unrestricted nursing license in any U.S. State or Territory.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain certification.

Pay

$116,732.00 - $151,751.00 annually.
