Obstetrician/Gynecologist - Locum Tenens Coverage

About the role

This role involves providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in an inpatient setting, primarily through 24-hour in-house call shifts. The clinician will manage an average of 278 deliveries annually, assist hospitalists, and serve as backup for certified nurse midwives during shifts. The facility features a Level III NICU, onsite Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists, and in-house anesthesia support to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first assist services for obstetric and gynecologic procedures
• Handle obstetric and gynecologic emergencies
• Manage obstetric and gynecologic cases during 24-hour shifts
• Assist hospitalists and support certified nurse midwives
• Respond to emergencies and provide immediate patient care
• Ensure compliance with established protocols and maintain patient safety
• Maintain prescriptive authority

Requirements

• Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology (negotiable)
• Prescriptive authority
• Experience in obstetrics and gynecology
• Ability to handle emergencies and provide comprehensive care
• Strong collaboration with support staff including hospitalists and certified nurse midwives (CNMs)
