OBSTETRICAL SCRUB TECH II - LABOR & DELIVERY

About the role

The OB Scrub Tech is responsible for assisting the registered nurse in the provision of quality patient care during the assigned shift within the framework of the mission, vision, and values of East Alabama Medical Center. The OB Scrub Tech demonstrates the ability to perform surgical scrub for obstetrical deliveries and any other obstetrical emergency, maintenance of supplies in the LDRs and surgical suites, and other identified patient care within the parameters of the job description. The OB Scrub Tech will also demonstrate the ability to perform secretarial duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the registered nurse in providing quality patient care.
• Perform surgical scrub for obstetrical deliveries and other obstetrical emergencies.
• Maintain supplies in the LDRs and surgical suites.
• Perform secretarial duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist Program or on-the-job training with at least 5 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire/transfer.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).
• Surgical Tech Certification (preferred).
