Job Summary

KBR is seeking an Obsolescence Manager for fast-paced and dynamic role supporting the PATRIOT and IBCS weapon systems. The candidate will be responsible for conducting broad industrial research to identify hardware obsolescence mitigation strategies in each of the managed major end items. Candidates will use multiple datasets and tools to drive design changes with prime contractors. The candidate will prepare briefings to senior leaders and lead bi-weekly IPTs to communicate changes across both IFMC and PGSE project offices. The Obsolescence Manager will organize and lead a semiannual program level meetings, presenting top design changes and possible courses of action to FMS system users and PAE Fires leadership. The Obsolescence Manager is a key member of Performance Management Directorate, that will interface with Hardware and International Programs Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively use industry search tools to identify possible replacements for identified obsolete parts.
  • Generate obsolescence reports by system configuration per major end item for all fielded configurations of PATRIOT and IBCS systems.
  • Generate briefing materials of obsolescence reports for each configuration per major end item for IFMC senior leadership, supporting program meetings and IPTs.
  • Develop and deliver obsolescence reports with FMS partners and senior managers.
  • Chair semiannual obsolescence working group meeting with FMS partners and PAE leadership.
  • Analyze prime contractor proposed obsolescence changes (engineering change proposals) for form, fit, function changes and communicate issues to the hardware team and USG obsolescence lead.
  • Analyze obsolescence reports and recommend different upgrade courses of action for FMS partners based on fielding configuration and programmatic goals.
  • Organize and chair bi-weekly IPT meeting, communicating hardware obsolescence changes in development and execution for PGSE and IFMC project leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, any discipline, from an ABET accredited program.
  • 5-10 years of experience in their engineering domain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in senior staff positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver technical briefings to senior management and subject matter experts.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and deliver technical reports.
  • Demonstrated manufacturing and process improvement experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience working on PATRIOT or IBCS weapon systems.
  • Experience working with Hardware design teams.
