About the role

Join Amgen’s mission to serve patients living with serious illnesses. As an Observational Research Manager within the Data and Analytics Center (DAC), you will lead research activities that generate real-world evidence (RWE) to support drug development and commercialization. The Center for Observational Research (CfOR) partners with internal and external teams to provide critical insights on disease frequency, clinical burden, trial design, cost patterns, and the safety and efficiency of interventions. This role is recognized as a strong scientific contributor, with opportunities to author peer-reviewed papers, present at scientific congresses, and produce internal reports that advance Amgen’s mission.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and lead descriptive epidemiologic studies to characterize disease incidence/prevalence in the US, EU, Asia, and emerging markets.
  • Manage research projects involving the analysis of medical claims, electronic health records, and prospective observational cohort studies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative analytic methods, capabilities, and tools for scalable and reproducible RWE.
  • Conduct literature reviews and prepare research reports and scientific manuscripts.
  • Stay current on the latest developments in observational research and drug development.
  • Promote awareness, understanding, and use of observational research methods.
  • Communicate significant scientific information to diverse audiences.

Requirements

We seek a driven research professional with the following qualifications:

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Doctorate degree and 2 years of epidemiology experience, or
    • Master’s degree and 4 years of epidemiology experience, or
    • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of epidemiology experience, or
    • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of epidemiology experience, or
    • High School diploma/GED and 12 years of epidemiology experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Doctorate in Epidemiology or a related field with high observational research content.
    • Experience communicating observational research findings (written and oral).
    • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Pay

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted on the careers site. Actual salary will vary based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
