About the role

The successful candidate will be an ambitious, self-directed individual capable of contributing significantly to the design work of OBRA Architects. They should have a minimum of eight (8) years of experience, a five-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, and a strong commitment to professional quality.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity
  • Collaborate with the firm’s principals to contribute to the design work
  • Ensure adherence to NYC and international building codes and construction standards
  • Handle project management, detail and design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Supervise site work and manage permit filings, code research, zoning analysis, and regulatory approvals
  • Communicate effectively with clients, prepare contract documentation, and manage project schedules
  • Coordinate with consultants and lead teams
  • Provide technical detailing and consultant coordination

Requirements

  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in architecture
  • A five-year Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Commitment to professional quality and authenticity in architecture
  • Understanding of NYC and international building codes and construction standards
  • Ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities
  • Experience in project management, detail and design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Experience in permitting processes, code research, zoning analysis, and securing approvals from regulatory agencies
  • Strong communication skills, including client communications, contract documentation, and project scheduling
  • Experience in team leadership, technical detailing, and consultant coordination
