About the Role

AdventHealth Tampa is seeking experienced OB/GYN Hospitalists to join our Academic OB/GYN Residency Program. Along with our Program Director and academic leadership team, you will be joining General OB/GYNs, Gynecologic Surgeons, FPMRS, and MFM physicians. This role is ideal for physicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care while shaping the next generation of OB/GYN professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in a hospital setting, ensuring high-quality, round-the-clock care for patients
• Manage labor and delivery
• Respond to obstetric emergencies
• Perform deliveries and surgical procedures
• Collaborate with nurses and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide consultative services
• Support emergency department evaluations
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Mentor and supervise OB/GYN residents as part of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program
• Provide hands-on training, oversee clinical decision-making, and foster an environment of continuous learning and professional development

Schedule

Flexible schedules will include fourteen 12-hour shifts OR seven 24-hour shifts per month.

Qualifications

• Current medical license (M.D. or D.O.)
• Board certification or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
• Certification in adult and neonatal resuscitation
• 5 years minimum of Labor and Delivery experience
• Proficiency with hospital EMR systems
• A motivation to increase patient safety and elevate patient satisfaction, along with dynamic communication skills and the ability to fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth, are required
