OB Technician

Location: 225 Williamson Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202

Pay Range: $28.82 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.

About the Role

The OB Technician assists the nursing and medical staff in providing safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in the Labor & Delivery setting. This role is essential in supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring readiness of equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician or OB Technician program OR equivalent experience
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred:

• Prior experience in Labor & Delivery or Operating Room
• Certified Surgical Technologist
• Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and sterile technique

Schedule

• Must be available to work 2 shifts a month, one of them being a weekend shift
• Must work 1 Summer Holiday
• Must work 1 Winter Holiday

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures
• Prepare delivery rooms and operating rooms for procedures
• Perform surgical scrub duties for C-sections
• Stock and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment
• Assist with patient transport and positioning
• Clean, disinfect, and turnover rooms between patients
• Support emergency situations such as stat sections, hemorrhage, etc.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
