OB Technician

About the role

Labor & Delivery Technician assists with patient care tasks, maintains equipment and supplies, scrubs for C-Sections and deliveries, and anticipates and orders supplies.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing for C-Sections and deliveries
• Maintaining skills in computer order entry
• Stocking Labor rooms and LDRs
• Preparing and passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
• Ensuring correct specimen collection, labeling, and delivery
• Auxiliary patient transport

Requirements

• Completion of recognized training course for Surgical Technician (military or civilian)
• Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification
• One year experience as a Labor & Delivery technician in an acute care setting
• Demonstrated ability to scrub procedures in all specialty areas and train other technicians
