About the role

As an OB Tech at Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado, you will assist in the smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, performing direct and indirect patient care and supporting surgical procedures. • Assist with vaginal deliveries under RN and provider direction
• Function as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures
• Maintain supplies and equipment
• Assist with Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment
• Perform patient care duties such as vitals, hygiene, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum, and newborn patients
• Provide clerical/business support tasks
• Set up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures
• Perform appropriate counts with the circulator prior to operation, before incision is closed, and as needed
• Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures by checking package integrity, indicators, and opening procedures
• Prepare and sterilize supplies and equipment used in procedures, and dispose of sharps/contaminated materials appropriately
• Provide patient care including comfort and hygiene measures, safety measures, transport, nutritional and elimination needs, and well‑baby care such as bathing infants, bottle feeding, transporting, cord care, and weighing of infants

Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Basic Life Support
• Refer to CS Addendum and UT License and Certification Grid
• Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire (unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration – required for Colorado employed staff only)

Preferred

• Completion of a Surgical Tech program
• One (1) year patient care experience (OB Tech, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience)

Pay

$26.82 - $44.26 /hour
