About the role
Join Team Tidelands and help people live better lives through better health! As a Tidelands Health OB Scrub Tech, you'll assist in Labor & Delivery, the Nursery, and on the nursing unit.
Responsibilities
- Accurately prepares patient charts and outpatient packets
- Keeps other nursing personnel notified of changes
- Ensures supplies are available in the Nursery, PPE cabinets, and daily linen preparation for staff use during ADL’s
- Assists with toileting and feeding patients as directed by the Registered Nurse
- Assists the Circulator in proper positioning of the patient
- Demonstrates proper scrub/sterile techniques
- Follows proper etiquette when answering phones
Requirements
- High School Diploma and graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program maintaining the Surgical Technologist Certification administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or its successor
- Completion of an accredited program for surgical technologists, graduates may practice for up to 3 months before completing certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor
- Complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified for employment annually
- Required or High School Diploma and completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the United States Armed Forces, Public Health Service, or equivalent
- Complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified for employment annually
- Required Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days

Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Required or Evidence of employment as a Surgical Technician in a South Carolina healthcare facility or the federal government prior to January 1, 2008 (a break in service will not disqualify the individual if employment as a Surgical Technician is documented prior to January 1, 2008)
- Complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified for employment annually
