Sentara Health is hiring OB GYN Ultrasound Technician /Medical Sonographer in Harrisonburg, VA!

Job Description

• Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include:
  • scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology
  • operation of sonography equipment
  • operation of the electronic radiology systems
  • preparation of patient room/equipment/medications
  • maintains adequate supply inventory
• Explains examination and procedure to patients and completes departmental documentation.
• Certified in use and logging of infection control equipment.

Education

HS Diploma or equivalency Required
Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred

Certification/Licensure

• Completion of a training program acceptable to their registry board, ARRT, or ARDMS Required
• Registered ARRT or ARDMS required upon hire for ACR-accredited sites
• Required for ICAVL-accredited sites, candidates who are not yet credentialed may be hired as provisional technical staff, must work under the direct supervision of a credentialed vascular/general sonographer, and must obtain the appropriate vascular/general sonography credential within two years of the start date of training
