OB/GYN Physician

About the role

New Britain OB/GYN, part of Physicians for Women’s Health (PWH) in New Britain, CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. The practice includes 6 MDs and 1 APRN, with OB providers sharing equal call and serving patients across two office locations. The practice is affiliated with The Hospital of Central Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations.
• Order or perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
• Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, follow hospitalized patients as appropriate, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
• Gain competence in the Electronic Medical Record System.
• Submit billing at the time of the office visit.

Requirements

• Experience in OB/GYN or Women’s Health.
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN.
• Active Connecticut medical license.
• Federal and State controlled substance licenses.
• BLS certification.
• Eligible for hospital privileges.
• Effective communication (verbal and written), listening, and customer service skills.
• Ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.
• Knowledge of the principles of fetal growth and development, with the ability to identify and address age-specific patient needs.
