About the Practice

Middlesex OB&GYN Associates, a division of Physicians for Women’s Health (PWH) and an affiliate of Women’s Health Connecticut, is a well-respected, established OB/GYN practice serving Middlesex County for over 75 years. The practice offers an established patient population and is one of the largest groups of OB/GYN physicians in the United States. Women’s Health Connecticut is a network of more than 275 OB/GYN providers, providing the benefits and resources of a large organization while maintaining a supportive, collaborative community.

Current provider staffing includes 5 MDs, 1 FNP, 1 WHNP, and 1 PMHNP. Obstetricians share equal call (1:5 with home call allowed) and serve patients in two office locations: Middletown, CT and Essex, CT. The practice features:

• Approximately 300-350 deliveries per year

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examinations.
• Order or perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
• Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, follow hospitalized patients as appropriate, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
• Gain competence in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Submit billing at the time of office visits.

Requirements

• Experience in OB/GYN or Women’s Health.
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN.
• Connecticut medical license or ability to obtain one.
• Federal and state controlled substance licenses.
• Eligible for hospital privileges.
• Effective communication (verbal and written), listening, and customer service skills.
