OB/GYN Physician

About the role

The Physician for Women’s Health (PWH) supports the OB/GYN practice at Litchfield County, located in Torrington, CT. The practice includes 2 MDs, 1 DO, and 2 PA-C’s, with equal call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data.
• Order or perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
• Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems, and health maintenance.
• Develop and implement patient management plans, follow hospitalized patients, record progress notes, and assist in continuity of care.
• Gain competence in the Electronic Medical Record System and submit billing at the time of office visit.

Requirements

• Experience in OB/GYN or Women’s Health.
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certified or board eligible.
• Connecticut License.
• Federal and State controlled substance licenses.
• BLS certification.
• Eligible for hospital privileges.
• Effective communication (verbal and written), listening, and customer service skills.

Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of fetal growth and development and be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific needs.

Skills

Knowledge of principles of fetal growth and development, ability to diagnose patient conditions, and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.
