OB/GYN Outpatient Office - University Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lattimore - Registered Nurse-Level 2

Responsibilities

• Provides competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• Assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
• Performs telephone triage of patient phone calls and consulting with care providers.
• Gives medications and injections as ordered.
• Obtains vital signs of patients.
• Obtains and records medical, surgical, and family histories, allergies, and current medications.
• Documents symptoms or concerns.
• Performs point of care testing such as pregnancy testing, urinalysis, and catheterization as needed.
• Affords assistance with office procedures such as colposcopy, biopsy, sonography, etc.
• Reviews charts, ensures office compliance with Joint Commission regulations.
• Schedules patient appointments.
• Performs other general office duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of New York.
• Experience in women’s health and ambulatory settings preferred.
• Ability to use electronic medical record systems.
• Willingness to be flexible and a team player.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
