OB/GYN Locum Tenens Inpatient Coverage

About the Role

This inpatient obstetric and gynecologic physician provides 24-hour call coverage at a hospital with a 24/7 midwife model. The hospital handles approximately 1,000 deliveries annually, with a typical patient load of 2-3 deliveries per day. The clinician must maintain prescriptive authority and may have temporary privileges while supporting continuous patient care alongside in-house physicians and midwives.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient OB-GYN cases
• Provide emergency room coverage
• Perform circumcisions (preferred) and D&C procedures for miscarriages
• Support a team-based model with in-house physicians and midwives
• Provide continuous patient support during 24-hour shifts
• Maintain a clean file for credentialing

Requirements

• Prescriptive authority (required)
• Ability to perform obstetric and gynecologic procedures
• Strong patient management skills

Board certification is negotiable. The role is on-site with an adult patient population, an unrestricted call schedule, and no government affiliation. The assignment offers a seamless credentialing process and dedicated support services.
