OB/GYN Laborist

About the Role

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking an OB/GYN Laborist to join the team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center, and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. Both hospitals are leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health, with a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient obstetric care, including labor management, deliveries, and postpartum care.
• Evaluate and manage obstetric triage patients, admissions, and emergencies.
• Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures as needed.
• Manage obstetric emergencies, including postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, eclampsia, and maternal-fetal resuscitation.
• Perform inpatient and ED gynecologic consultations, emergency gynecologic surgery, and inpatient gynecology management.
• Collaborate with MFM, anesthesia, neonatology, nursing, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety debriefings, and education/mentorship of residents, students, and nursing staff.
