OB Anesthesiologist - UPMC Hamot Medical Center - Full Time

UPMC Hamot Medical Center is a regional tertiary-care facility, referral hub, and Level II trauma center in Erie, PA. With over 400 beds, the hospital provides an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services and employs nearly 4,000 staff, including over 650 medical team members. The anesthesiology team works in a care-team model, fostering collaboration among anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgeons across diverse case mixes at multiple sites, including a women’s hospital, surgery centers, a community hospital, and the Level 2 trauma center.

About the Role

This full-time opportunity is for an OB anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive anesthesia care in a supportive, team-based environment. The role includes a mix of in-house and beeper call (approximately once per week) with a post-call day off. Case assignments span orthopedic, neuro, general surgery, transplants, OBGYN, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across a variety of surgical procedures
• Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent
• Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients
• Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
• Monitor patients' physiological condition and perform interventions as needed
• Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Completion of Anesthesiology Residency
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Current medical licensure
• ECFMG/FLEX (if applicable)
