O&RE Systems Engineer - Kings Bay
About the role
This position is located in St. Marys, Georgia. Overhaul and Repair Engineering (O&RE) supports the U.S. Navy's fleet readiness by performing overhaul, repair, and modernization work on submarines. The organization works across various systems and components, from electrical to mechanical, ensuring submarines can return to service efficiently.
Responsibilities
Develop and interpret technical work documents based on shipbuilding specifications, military standards, and contractual requirements.
Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting during submarine maintenance and repair processes.
Collaborate with other O&RE engineers and departments to ensure compliance with shipyard and U.S. Navy procedures.
Evaluate and approve non-conforming technical conditions.
Support the testing and certification of systems impacted by technical work documents.
Assist with off-site projects at various Electric Boat and U.S. Navy facilities.
Gain an understanding of specific non-nuclear areas and systems within the technical work documents.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering with 1-5 years of post-graduate engineering experience.
Ability to obtain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Willingness to travel and support extended off-site assignments as needed.
Preferred
Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
Flexibility to support critical work and schedule needs.
