About the role

The position involves developing and leading an Advanced Heart Failure Program at the Manhattan VA Medical Center in collaboration with NYU Langone Health's Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an Advanced Heart Failure Program at the Manhattan VA Medical Center
• Collaborate with NYU Langone Health's Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Program
• Manage patients with acute mechanical support devices, LVADs, and those pre and post-heart transplant
• Comfortable managing patients in the critical care space
• Participate in clinical, research, and teaching opportunities at NYU Langone Health

Requirements

• Early to mid-career Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist
• Proximate experience (or training) with the management of acute mechanical support devices, LVADs, and patients pre and post heart transplant
• Comfort in managing patients in the critical care space

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree
• Current New York State Medical License
• ACGME accredited fellowship in Cardiology
• ACGME accredited fellowship in Heart Failure & Transplantation

Skills

• Expertise in all areas of heart failure, including cardiac sarcoid, amyloid, MCS
• Experience with complex and high-risk coronary interventions, advanced EP procedures, cardiothoracic surgery
• Knowledge of cardiac imaging including cardiac CT and CMR
• Ability to manage patients in the critical care space
