NYS HCRA Surcharge Specialist
Job Description
In support of the financial objectives of the organization, the purpose of this position is to review patient accounts and payer remittance advices to identify appropriate classification for the NYS HCRA (Health Care Reform Act) Surcharge reporting requirement. This includes making necessary changes to visit level carriers and/or plans, monitoring the electing payer list and tracking surchargeable patient payments. Complete monthly regulatory reporting for NY HCRA surcharge and Cash Assessments. This includes collection of data from multiple sources in order to determine amounts payable to the state by Kaleida Health.
Education And Credentials
- Associates degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is required.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Accounting is preferred.
Experience
- 3 years patient financial service experience required, preferably in accounts receivable.
