NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator

About the role

We are a reputable environmental consulting firm based in New Jersey! We support large projects through New York City and cater to many contracts across the five boroughs of New York City. Our goal is to deliver efficient and professional services to our clients through innovative approaches. We are seeking an experienced NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator/Project Manager to conduct asbestos-containing materials inspections in a variety of building types in the New York City area. Responsibilities

• Assess the status of asbestos suspect materials within the New York tri‑state area by engaging in building surveys for asbestos‑containing materials (ACM) and hazard assessments through sampling and testing
• Submit all bulk samples to appropriate laboratories
• Prepare reports on each investigation
• Perform duties in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Conduct asbestos‑containing material surveys
• Manage client relationships

Requirements

• Experience in the environmental consulting industry
• NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator license
• Experience conducting asbestos‑containing materials inspections in a variety of building types
• Ability to issue ACP 5s

Qualifications

• NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector certification (preferred)
• Additional certifications such as Lead, Mold, CHMM, 40‑Hour HAZWOPER, 10/30‑Hour Construction Safety, CIE, CMI
• Mold Assessor, Asbestos Inspector, and/or Asbestos Inspector credentials
• B.S. in environmental science, engineering, chemistry, safety, biology, or a related field
• Ability to deal directly with clients in a professional manner
• Project management experience
