About the Role

The Medical Receptionist (Patient Services Coordinator) is responsible for greeting patients, managing check-ins, obtaining insurance information, providing forms, processing payments, and scheduling appointments. This position supports our new clinics opening in September, requiring travel to locations in The Bronx, Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Lower Manhattan, and Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival, sign them in, and obtain insurance information and other necessary data.
  • Provide patients with intake and new patient forms, office policies, and legally required documents.
  • Process payments from patients for co-pays and uninsured visits.
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients based on provided guidelines.
  • Maintain hard copy patient records and files stored in our EMR system.
  • Audit schedules to ensure patient insurance eligibility.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, HIPAA, and applicable laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a medical setting in customer service.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ECW (eClinicalWorks) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software.

Pay

$23 USD per hour.
