NW Deployment Planner II, GND - Planning, Implementation, Coordination (PIC) Team

The Global Network Delivery organization within AWS Data Center Delivery is seeking a highly motivated Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team. This role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across multiple data center locations.

About the role

• Ensure adherence to timelines.
• Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement.
• Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers, and Technical Project Managers to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
• Familiarity with common networking terms.
• Excellent judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
• Strong prioritization and time management ability.
• Coordination of design, project timeline/schedule, and construction milestones.
• Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.
• Must be well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure.

Requirements

• Experience in project management.
• 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
• Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.

Skills

• Technology background enabling understanding of sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers.
• Highly autonomous, very detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure, and fiber solutions.
