AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Scope and plan interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations
  • Review project forecasts and assure physical infrastructure resources are available for their execution
  • Work closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to local data center installation & deployment technicians
  • Ensure adherence to timelines
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement
  • Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule and construction milestones
  • Apply core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management

Basic qualifications

  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers
  • 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience
  • Knowledge of network cabling and optic types
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
  • Familiarity with common networking terms
  • Excellent judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs
  • Strong prioritization and time management ability
  • Must be well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure

Preferred qualifications

  • 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies

Pay & benefits

Base salary range: $30.00 - $54.00 USD hourly (USA, VA, Herndon and USA, WA, Seattle). Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
