NVH Test Engineer

About the role

This position is responsible for fundamental NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) measurement and verification, as well as related issue closure for EDU, axle, and driveline components and/or systems used in Light Vehicle and Commercial Vehicle business.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct noise and vibration measurements and analysis on EDU, axle, and driveline components and systems.
• Perform NVH testing and analysis to support customer programs, including:
  • Component/system testing on a dynamometer
  • Vehicle testing
  • Subjective analysis of noise and vibration quality
  • Objective data analysis of noise and vibration
  • Frequency and time domain analysis
  • Order analysis/tracking
  • Modal analysis
  • Transfer path analysis
• Write test result reports and present test results internally and to external customers.
• Support development of test procedures and methodologies for the NVH group.
• Interact with manufacturing facilities on NVH-related issues and requirements, including setting limits to ensure NVH quality control and customer satisfaction.
• Act as NVH technical contact for assigned customer programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering field.
• 2+ years of experience in noise and vibration.
• Demonstrated technical capability and accomplishment in previous position(s).
• Capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with people at all levels within and outside Dana in a professional manner.
• Experience with LMS Test.Lab preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Must be willing and able to work extra hours as necessary to complete assignments.
• Program management skills, experience dealing with customers and manufacturing plants are pluses.
