Nutritional Aid / Full time / 12pm-8pm
About the Role
This position performs various duties associated with the service of patient meals. As a Team Member (Dishwasher), you’ll play a vital part in ensuring our patients’ dining needs are met with care and excellence. Your daily responsibilities will include assisting with food preparation and service, maintaining clean and sanitary conditions, and delivering outstanding service that brightens every mealtime.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and service
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas
- Perform repetitive tasks daily, such as dishwashing and kitchen cleanup
- Follow oral and/or written instructions for daily tasks
- Use sanitation procedures and follow safety protocols for chemicals and cleaning products
- Work cooperatively with all partners in Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) and other departments
- Deliver excellent customer service to geriatric and other healthcare patients
- Adhere to established policies of the center and work under supervision
- Obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course if required by state regulations
Requirements
- Sincere interest in foodservice and enjoyment working with geriatric and healthcare patients
- Willingness to learn and apply correct sanitation procedures daily
- Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions
- Ability to speak, understand, and read English (reading skills may be required)
- Ability to read and understand labels on chemicals and MSDS sheets and use products safely
- Good mental and physical condition
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively with team members
- Willingness to fulfill responsibilities and maintain punctuality during scheduled shifts
- Healthcare food service experience preferred but not required
