Nutrition Services Worker (2 Positions)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of food items in a school cafeteria or central kitchen facility.
• Maintain nutrition services equipment and facilities in a safe, clean, and sanitary condition.
• Perform entry-level, routine, and manual functions of food preparation.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic kitchen and food serving utensils and equipment.
• Understanding of basic methods of food preparation and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to apply proper sanitation and safety requirements associated with food preparation and serving operations.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to learn to operate assigned nutrition services appliances and equipment safely.
• Ability to read at a level sufficient to perform assigned duties.
• Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations accurately.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.
• Pre-placement medical assessment and criminal history check required for the successful candidate prior to employment.

A test on general knowledge of meal pattern requirements for the National School Lunch Program and a basic math test will be given prior to the interview.

Qualifications

No experience is required, although some experience in food preparation and service would be helpful.

Pay

Starting salary: $1,055.93 monthly.

Schedule

• 9.5 months (to begin as soon as possible).
• 3 hours daily (11:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.).
