Nutrition Services Clerk

About the role

As a Nutrition Services Clerk, you will play a crucial role in preparing therapeutic and modified diets for patients, crafting meals for employees, visitors, and special functions. You will also distribute and collect menus, assist with diet orders, update patient kardex, visit patients to gather food preferences, allergies, and document nutritional history, complete production sheets, document special food requests, check patient tray lines, prepare and check early trays, and perform cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Distributes and collects menus
• Assists patients with diet orders
• Processes menus
• Updates patient kardex as required to include all diet changes
• Documents nourishments as ordered
• Visits patients to gather food preference, allergies, and document all nutritional history
• Completes production sheets and documents all special food requests
• Checks patient tray lines to ensure each meal is accurate to diet, patient request, and garnishing
• Prepares and checks early trays
• Affirms that food carts leave kitchen at scheduled times
• Performs cleaning duties

Requirements

• Possession of a food handler's permit, if mandated by state or county regulations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one-year experience as a Diet Clerk/Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute care facility preferred

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience as a Diet Clerk/Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute care facility

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this role is typically Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend shifts as needed.
