Nutrition Services Associate - Elementary 4 hours/day

About the role
Comply with food service manager's instruction on production, preparation, and service of food. Comply with department standards to account for meals (reimbursement and ala carte sales). Comply with food service manager's instruction on clean-up of kitchen, serving area, cafeteria, and dishroom. Comply with standards of safety in handling, preparation, storing, and serving food. Work on computerized point of sale equipment to process students through breakfast and lunch lines. Work efficiently and cooperate with other employees. Attend job-related training classes and workshops. Interact with students in a positive and professional manner. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
- Follow food service manager’s instructions on food production, preparation, and service.
- Adhere to department standards for meal accounting (reimbursement and ala carte sales).
- Clean kitchen, serving area, cafeteria, and dishroom as directed.
- Maintain safety standards in food handling, preparation, storage, and service.
- Operate computerized point-of-sale equipment for student meal processing.
- Collaborate with team members and work efficiently.
- Attend required job-related training and workshops.
- Engage with students in a positive and professional manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds, stand for 3-6 hours, and perform bending, twisting, and repetitive motions.
- Experience in institutional food service operations and/or school food service is helpful.
- Must complete Serve Safe course and pass exam with 70% accuracy or higher within one year of hire.
- Previous knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
Pay
Nutrition Services Associate: $20.91 - $23.42 hourly (based on 2026-27 contractual agreement).
