Nutrition Services Assistant I

About the Role

Prepare, cook, bake, and serve a variety of food in large quantities. Set up assigned food serving areas and perform cashiering duties for the sale of food items to students and staff. Maintain cleanliness of food service facilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, bake, and serve food in large quantities in accordance with health and sanitation regulations.
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform cashiering duties for food sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food service facilities.
• Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Maintain routine records and meet schedules and timelines.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Requirements

• Knowledge of methods for preparing and serving food in large quantities.
• Understanding of sanitation and safety practices related to cooking, baking, and serving food.
• Familiarity with standard kitchen equipment, utensils, and measurements.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Basic record-keeping skills.
• Ability to learn computer skills and utilize food service software.
• Proper lifting techniques.

Qualifications

Any combination equivalent to: a high school diploma or equivalent and responsible experience in food service operations.
