About the role

This position provides onsite program support to the ADRC Nutrition Program. It oversees senior nutrition site services, including coordinating congregate and/or home-delivered meals, managing volunteers, participant orientation, and collaborating with community partners for socialization opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Nutrition Program at the local senior center by providing service to congregate dining and home-delivered meal participants.
• Ensure proper staffing; oversee volunteers in set-up, serving, and clean-up.
• Ensure the site follows state and federal food sanitation regulations; ensure food is kept hot and/or properly refrigerated until serving time.
• Ensure daily cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining area before, during, and after meals.
• Assist in the recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers for congregate and home-delivered meal programs; keep records of volunteer hours served.
• Train and direct the work of staff and volunteers assigned to the meal site/home-delivered meal program.
• Register new congregate meal recipients; introduce and orient new participants on registration and donation procedures.
• Pack home-delivered meals and serve meals on site.
• Collect, record, and deposit donations and transportation revenue received.
• Prepare and maintain records of each participant’s attendance and meal information; process end-of-month reports and billing statements.
• Schedule transportation needs as needed for participants.
• Maintain on-site nutrition program inventory; assist with supply orders.
• Submit related programming articles to newsletters and media outlets for advertising and awareness.
• Provide opportunities for community activities and field trips for participants.
• Arrange community presentations, events, and various group activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience working with the elderly or disabled (preferred).
• AED/CPR and First Aid Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
• ServSafe Food Safety Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Appointment is conditional upon successful completion of a caregiver and criminal background check.

Pay

Starting pay is determined within the expected hiring range based on qualifications, directly related experience, and internal equity. Employees may advance through the full salary range in accordance with County policy.

• Expected Hiring Range: $20.83 – $23.56/hour
• Full Salary Range: $20.83 – $29.02/hour
