Department: Food and Nutrition – UH | FTE: 1.00 Full Time | Shift: Days
About the role
Provide medical nutrition therapy to patients. Ensures adherence to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. No patient care assignment.
Responsibilities
- Adhere and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards, JCAHO and other regulatory agency requirements.
- Participate in nutrition care performance improvement activities.
- Complete limited assessments according to established criteria and refer patients to Clinical Dietitians as needed.
- Develop care plan; monitor and evaluate patient care.
- Oversee menu preparation, distribution and collection.
- Provide information to patients regarding diet, food/drug interactions and menu.
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal business relationships with patients, visitors, physicians and all Hospitals personnel.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or higher, or within 36 months of hire.
- Nutrition and Dietetic Tech Registered certification, or within 1 year of hire.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
