Nutrition Assistant - Full Time, Day Shift
About the role
Job Summary: Provides clinical dietetic services by ensuring the diet ordered by physician is received by the patient. Assists in clerical duties for Nutrition Services department.
Responsibilities
- Distributes and collects selected menus from patients timely and completely.
- Affords assistance to patient with menu selection as needed.
- Evaluates all food items served to patients for quality and temperature.
- Follows all sanitation guidelines regarding food handling including the use of hairnet and hand washing.
- Considers age related factors when dealing with patient/guest.
- Prepares meals under the supervision of a dietary manager or cook.
- Prepares required reports and monitors food to ensure high quality.
- Delivers dishes and trays at designated times and rooms.
- Cleans food stations and wash dishes, cooking vessels and silverware.
- Discards leftovers and take out garbage.
- Stocks ingredients and monitors inventory.
- Aids in keeping track of expenses and menu planning.
- Helps maintain kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Maintains and stocks patient snack cart and distributes to patients per diet orders.
- Maintains high quality, safe food as specified by Nutritional Food Services and all basic food handling guidelines as specified by Local, State, and Federal agencies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education and Work Experience: High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Technical experience: Preferred

Pay
The estimated base pay for this position is $25.00 to $30.01. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package, and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.
