Nutrition Assistant
About the Role
As our Nutrition Assistant, you will assist in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient food services to patients and staff. You will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, ensure food safety compliance, and interact with patients regarding dietary needs. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong food safety knowledge, and excellent customer service to contribute to a positive dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Follow therapeutic diet guidelines, allergy restrictions, and prepare meals, nourishments, snacks, and supplements using production tools.
- Explain basic therapeutic diet orders and menus to patients and families; escalate complex nutrition questions to clinical support.
- Collect patient food preferences, ensure compliance with diet orders, and distribute preferences for timely menu planning.
- Operate electronic diet office software and navigate electronic health records to access patient diet orders and nutritional reports.
- Perform regular cleaning of equipment and work areas, including tray lines, coolers, office areas, and emptying trash.
- Ensure patient satisfaction regarding dietary needs while adhering to all established procedures and protocols.
Requirements
- One (1) year of food service experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25-bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department available 24 hours a day. The hospital has provided quality medical treatment to the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. It offers 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, acute care services, on-site lab, radiology, CT, and physical therapy services.
Pay
$15.00 - $20.12 per hour.
