Job Summary And Responsibilities As our Nutrition Assistant, you will assist in delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient food services to patients and staff. Every day you will prepare and deliver meal trays, assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, ensure food safety compliance, and interact with patients regarding dietary needs. To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong food safety knowledge, and excellent customer service, contributing to a positive dining experience. Dietary Compliance & Preparation: Follows therapeutic diet guidelines, allergy restrictions, and prepares meals, nourishments, snacks, and supplements accordingly, utilizing production toolsPatient Communication & Education: Explains basic therapeutic diet orders and menus to patients and families, escalating complex nutrition questions to clinical supportPreference Collection & Distribution: Collects patient food preferences, ensures compliance with diet orders, and distributes preferences for timely menu planningElectronic System Proficiency: Operates electronic diet office software and navigates electronic health records to access patient diet orders and nutritional reportsGeneral Cleaning & Sanitation: Performs regular cleaning of equipment and work areas, including tray lines, coolers, office areas, and emptying trashCustomer Service & Support: Ensures patient satisfaction regarding dietary needs while adhering to all established procedures and protocols Job Requirements Required One (1) year food service experience High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience Where You'll Work CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services. Pay Range $15.00 - $20.12 /hour
