About the role
Serve as the central focus of communication for the Patient-Care Unit.
- Coordinate the clerical functions of the Unit, assisting with charting, admissions, and discharges.
- Maintain organization within the Nurse's station to promote an orderly workflow.
- Receive, sort, and organize all interdepartmental communications.
- Schedule and coordinate special patient appointments with other departments as directed by Health Care Team Members within an appropriate timeframe.
- Answer call bells and assist as appropriate.
- Handle a high volume of phone calls.
- Welcome and assist all visitors to the unit.
Requirements
- Ability to read and transcribe Physician orders.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of Hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
- Good communication and phone skills.
Pay
Salary Range: $17.30 - $23.36 USD per hour (prorated for part-time).
Compensation may include clinical certification pay and shift differentials, determined by job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data.
